The main transportation options

Las Vegas business travelers typically combine four categories: walking, rideshare/taxis, pre-arranged private vehicles, and fixed-route systems such as the Monorail and Vegas Loop. Each solves a different problem.

When the Las Vegas Monorail works well

The Monorail runs along the east side of the Strip with stations serving SAHARA, Westgate, the Las Vegas Convention Center, Harrah’s/LINQ, Flamingo/Caesars Palace, Horseshoe/Paris and MGM Grand.

It can be particularly useful for convention teams staying at properties near those stations because it avoids Strip traffic and gives the group a predictable route to the LVCC. It is less useful when the hotel or final destination requires a long walk from the station.

When the Vegas Loop works well

The LVCC Loop is designed for rapid movement across the large Las Vegas Convention Center campus. Trips within the LVCC campus are free, and the wider Vegas Loop network is expanding to off-campus stations.

For teams moving between convention halls, it can save substantial walking time. For off-campus use, confirm the currently operating station network and ticket requirements for your travel dates.

When to pre-arrange private vehicles

Private SUVs, sedans and vans are generally the strongest choice when:

• senior executives or VIP clients are traveling;
• the group has a fixed dinner or meeting time;
• multiple people need to arrive together;
• luggage or event materials make rideshare impractical;
• the experience itself needs to feel controlled and professional.

For client evenings, a pre-arranged vehicle can also prevent the end of the night from turning into a rideshare coordination exercise.

Group movement strategy

For groups, the most important details are pickup location, departure time and who has authority to hold or release the vehicle. Large Las Vegas resorts can have several entrances, rideshare zones and convention pickup points.

Put the exact pickup point into the itinerary and send it before the group leaves the meeting venue.

Airport arrival planning

For one or two travelers, taxis and rideshare are often simple. For executives, international groups or travelers arriving on the same flight, pre-arranged airport transportation can create a cleaner start to the trip.

For larger groups arriving at different times, it may be more efficient to group arrivals into transfer windows rather than schedule one vehicle per traveler.
