Hotel Strategy

Best Las Vegas Hotel Areas for Convention Teams

The best convention hotel is not automatically the newest, closest or cheapest. It is the property that minimizes friction for your specific venue, schedule and group.

What matters most for a convention team

Evaluate a hotel on five business criteria before looking at leisure amenities:

  1. Venue access: How will the team reach the event every morning?
  2. Internal meeting needs: Do you need quiet lounge space, a meeting room or breakfast access?
  3. Client hosting: Will customers meet you at the property for drinks, dinner or an event?
  4. Group logistics: How easy is the pickup point for SUVs, vans or shuttles?
  5. Traveler profile: Senior executives may value a very different property than a large field-sales team.

For Las Vegas Convention Center programs

Properties around the north and central Strip can reduce daily travel time to the LVCC. Useful options to evaluate include:

Wynn / Encore

Premium choice for executive and client-facing programs. Wynn/Encore has extensive meeting infrastructure, business centers and an Encore Vegas Loop station providing direct access toward the LVCC network.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas

Modern north-Strip option with a business-oriented location near the convention district. Strong candidate when a team values newer accommodations and proximity.

Resorts World Las Vegas

Large modern resort with extensive meeting space and multiple dining/entertainment options, useful for groups combining convention attendance with hosted events.

Westgate Las Vegas

Practical location next to the convention district and directly served by the Monorail, often useful when access is more important than a luxury-forward client impression.

For Venetian Expo programs

If the event is centered at The Venetian Expo, staying at The Venetian/Palazzo offers the most obvious convenience for teams with early starts, booth responsibilities or frequent returns to the room. Nearby Harrah’s/LINQ-area properties can also work well because the Monorail station provides access to the Strip and LVCC corridor.

For a client-heavy program, staying on-property can reduce the number of transfers between meetings, dinners and hospitality.

For central Strip meetings

For trips built around ARIA, Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Paris/Horseshoe or multiple central-Strip meetings, choose the hotel based on where the most important meetings occur — not where the convention center is located.

Central Strip can be particularly effective for client programs because it offers dense restaurant, meeting and entertainment options within a relatively compact area.

For premium executive and client programs

When perception and hospitality are part of the objective, properties such as Wynn/Encore, The Venetian/Palazzo, ARIA and other high-end resorts may justify a higher room rate by reducing the need to move clients elsewhere for dinners, lounges, meetings or hosted experiences.

For these trips, evaluate the total program cost rather than room rate alone.

Group blocks and booking strategy

For major Las Vegas events, rooms can tighten quickly. Some conventions operate official housing programs, and event organizers may secure specific room blocks. Compare those terms with direct hotel or group arrangements before committing.

  • Confirm cancellation and attrition terms before holding a block.
  • Know whether travelers will pay individually or through one company master account.
  • Build an arrival list and rooming list early.
  • For international groups, account for different arrival days and recovery time.
Planning note

Hotel availability, transportation operations, venue access and event-specific arrangements can change. Confirm current details for your travel dates before booking.
